President Dina Boluarte on Friday stated that the Government is responding immediately to emergencies caused by the meteorological phenomena that have affected regions along Peru's central and southern coast.

From the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) in Lima, Mrs. Boluarte highlighted the coordination among ministries, regional and local governments

Likewise, the Head of State emphasized that her administration's priority is to protect citizens' lives and health.

"We are working 24 hours a day to provide assistance to the affected areas," said Mrs. Boluarte, who noted that basic services previously interrupted in some areas —such as electricity— have already been restored.

Furthermore, the top official reported that 115 homes have been affected, according to the Ministry of Housing. She added that direct coordination with regional governments is underway to provide timely assistance.

The President emphasized that the response to the meteorological phenomena is being carried out in a coordinated manner, including the participation of the Executive Branch and local authorities.

She stressed that ministers and technical teams are already present in the areas hardest hit by the extreme meteorological conditions, adding that immediate measures are being taken to ensure the population's well-being.

The top official urged citizens to stay informed through official channels such as the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi), the agency responsible for issuing scientific reports on the intensity and duration of atmospheric phenomena.

Moreover, the Head of State urged citizens to take precautions, especially by reinforcing vulnerable structures and protecting their families.

"We must keep our families safe, stay away from glass, and reinforce fragile roofs," she said, adding that the Peruvian State is prepared to respond swiftly to any eventuality.

Mrs. Boluarte also reminded citizens that the emergency zones are being continuously monitored and that all relevant sectors have activated response protocols to prevent further damage.

Lastly, Mrs. Boluarte urged the population to remain calm and reaffirmed the Government's commitment to act efficiently.

"While the situation may change rapidly, we are ready to intervene immediately," she concluded.
