In an effort that reaffirms the National Government's firm commitment to relentlessly combating drug trafficking in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem), law enforcement seized a light aircraft intended for drug transport in Echarate district, La Convencion province, Cusco region.

The operation was carried out by military personnel from the Vraem Special Command and agents of the Peruvian National Police as part of a counter-narcotics operation.

Along with the aircraft, various items were also seized, including a compactor, five fuel drums of jet fuel, a manual winch, and a national ID card, all of which were turned over to authorities for the corresponding investigations.

These actions reflect the National Government's resolve, through the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, to confront drug trafficking head-on in the Vraem, ensuring the population's safety and undermining the criminal logistics that threaten the peace of this important Peruvian region.

The joint work with the Peruvian National Police also makes it possible to directly strike at illegal organizations seeking to use the territory for illicit activities.

The Defense sector is committed to continuing operations that not only reinforce the pacification of the Vraem but also lay the foundations for promoting its comprehensive development.

Thus, the National Government reaffirms that security, peace, and opportunities for progress for the region's citizens are a priority on the national agenda.
