"I have proposed to the Prime Minister the implementation of an action plan in science and technology between Peru and Japan that could address areas such as innovation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, as well as the improvement and optimization of value chains, industrial processes, energy transition, governance, digital integration, among other highly relevant topics, all of which the official has received with great interest," she stated during the meeting.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of boosting and expanding the presence of Japanese businesses in Peru, particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, sanitation, transportation, agro-export, and the environment, which will help reduce the infrastructure gap and enhance sustainable development.
President Boluarte emphasized that Peru offers a favorable business environment.
Likewise, she highlighted the interest in linking the Japanese private sector with the logistical, industrial, and technological hub of the Peruvian central coast and South America.
The Head of State also underscored that the relationship between Peru and Japan is at its highest level with the implementation of the roadmap agreements to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between both countries, agreed upon in November 2024, of which 10 agreements have already been fulfilled in just eight months.
Additionally, Mrs. Boluarte emphasized that the bilateral relationship is based on shared values such as respect for democracy, the need to strengthen an international order based on clear rules, respect for international law, the peaceful resolution of disputes, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, and the strengthening of the multilateral system.
"Our visit reaffirms our bilateral friendship and sends a clear message to the world: Peru and Japan are committed to building a common future based on cooperation, innovation, and solidarity between brotherly nations," she pointed out.
