The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Monday stated that Peru is projecting itself to become a productive, modern, and export-oriented South American power.

"Today, we are a country that is positioning itself as a productive, modern, and export-driven South American power, integrating into the world with increasingly high-quality products and services," Mrs. Boluarte expressed during her Address to the Nation marking the 204th Anniversary of the Proclamation of National Independence.

The top official recalled that she had assumed the constitutional Presidency during one of the most difficult moments in recent history, when a conspiracy sought to dismantle the Republic's institutional foundations and push Peru into the ranks of failed states, aligning it with other regimes that have ended up building totalitarian dictatorships.

"I am the first woman president in 200 years of republican history, and that distinction carries a profound responsibility, which deeply honors me and which I have embraced with the highest commitment," she underlined.

The top official added that it was necessary to act out of a duty to defend the homeland in the face of unconstitutional and anti-democratic actions.

"We acted with the support of the citizenry and the respect of the Armed Forces, the National Police, and all the institutions that make up the fundamental pillars of the constitutional rule of law,” Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"Peru was calling for stability, for leadership, and, above all, for the unwavering respect of democratic order," she added.

The President mentioned that her administration had no peace or respite, and from the very beginning faced a wave of violence and political unrest, which caused significant economic losses for the country.

The top official also warned that a narrative had been constructed in which the coup plotters were portrayed as victims, while those who sought to restore democratic constitutional order were cast as perpetrators.

"But time, history, and justice place everyone in their rightful place, revealing their true face and true intentions," she said.
