Peru and Argentina commemorate 203 years of diplomatic relations

Peru and Argentina celebrate 203 years of diplomatic relations, with a firm will to strengthen their historic ties of friendship and cooperation, along with a shared commitment to promoting trade, investment, technological innovation, and security for the benefit of both nations.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries date back to July 10, 1822.

The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commemorated the date on Thursday with a post on its official social media account.

Peru and Argentina are members of international organizations such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), and the United Nations.


On another note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of its Independence.

Peru also reaffirmed its strong commitment to continue strengthening the friendship and cooperation ties between both countries, within the framework of our joint participation in various regional forums.
