PCM: Peru presents progress on Anti-Bribery Convention implementation to OECD

12:01 | Lima, Jul. 2.

Peru, through a delegation led by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), presented to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) its progress in implementing the International Anti-Bribery Convention, reaffirming the country's commitment to integrity and the fight against corruption.

The information was released by the PCM on its official X account.

During its presentation, the Peruvian delegation highlighted the progress made based on OECD recommendations.

Similarly, it reaffirmed its respect for the separation of powers and the autonomy of justice system institutions.

Representatives from the PCM, the State-Attorney General's Office, the Judiciary, the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office), the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, and the National Justice Board participated in the meeting.

Therefore, Peru reaffirms its commitment to transparency and international cooperation, the PCM stated.

The OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions is a legally binding agreement for Peru, having been ratified by Supreme Decree No. 011-2018-RE and in force under domestic law since July 27, 2017.

It is the first and only international anti-corruption instrument that focuses on the "offering side" of corruption —namely, the individual or entity that offers, promises, or gives an illicit gift.
