President Dina Boluarte on Friday stated that her administration has placed the tourism sector at the center of the Peruvian growth and development agenda.
During the inauguration of Peru Travel Mart 2025 —the South American country's leading tourism business roundtable— the Head of State emphasized that tourism not only transforms lives but also drives the national economy.

"From the very beginning, the government has placed the tourism sector at the center of the nation's growth and development agenda, firmly convinced that this sector transforms lives and drives the economy," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

The Head of State highlighted that more than 3.2 million people visited Peru in 2024, a 29% increase compared to the previous year.

In that regard, the top official emphasized that her government is working to ensure legal and social security, as well as to provide better infrastructure across all corners of the country.

"We continue to strengthen democracy, which must not be disrupted at the whim or desire of a minority. We will keep working to reinforce the rule of law, respect for institutions and the Constitution," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"With those solid foundations, we can say to the world: come, Peru is a country that not only guarantees investments, but is also a nation of hope that builds its dreams," she added.

The President stated that the goal for the tourism sector is to reach 5.2 million tourists by 2030.

She also highlighted that Peru Travel Mart 2025 is strengthening its role as a key platform for commercial exchange, with the participation of 182 international buyers from 27 countries and over 6,000 business meetings projected, amounting to S/63 million (US$17.69 million).
