Annual core inflation, which excludes volatile prices such as food and energy, stood at 1.69% in June 2025 —the lowest rate in over four years, since February 2021, when it reached 1.57%, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.

The 12-month overall inflation rate in Metropolitan Lima stood at 1.69% in the sixth month of this year, remaining within the target inflation range since mid-2024.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Metropolitan Lima rose by 0.13% in June compared to May, while the monthly core inflation rate —excluding food and energy— was 0.07% for the same period.

The price variations that contributed most to the rise in June's inflation were other fresh fruits (+8.2%), fresh sea fish (+6.7%), and meals outside the home (+0.2%).

Meanwhile, the categories with the greatest downward impact were eggs (-6.4%), chicken meat (-1.2%), and sugar (-4.2%).
