Peru: President to deliver Independence Day address to Nation today

The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, will deliver an address to the Nation on July 28 from Legislative Branch headquarters in Lima, on the occasion of the 204th Anniversary of the Proclamation of National Independence.

The solemn session at the Congress of the Republic is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

Ten minutes later, the Head of State is expected to address the entire nation.

The top official will begin the official Independence Day activities at 7:50 a.m., when she departs from the Government Palace to the Basilica Cathedral of Lima.

At the site, Mrs. Boluarte will attend the Solemn Mass and Te Deum.

At 9:10 a.m., the top official will leave the Cathedral to return to the Government Palace, where she will receive the Congressional Announcement Commission.

At 10:30 a.m., the Ministerial Cabinet is scheduled to depart for the Congress of the Republic to take part in the solemn session marking the 204th Anniversary of the Proclamation of National Independence.

After delivering her address to the Nation, President Boluarte will return to the Government Palace.

The day's official program will conclude with a greeting to the Head of State by the Diplomatic Corps and High Authorities of the Nation in the Golden Hall of the Government Palace.

This event is scheduled to take place at approximately 5:30 p.m.
