oversaw the construction of the Sipan Project, a modern military complex equipped with state-of-the-art technology that will strengthen the Armed Forces' institutional framework and enhance the Peruvian Army's operational capacity in northern Lambayeque region.
The new facility —built within Fort Caceres, home to the Army’s 7th Brigade— aims to bring together all military units in Lambayeque under a single complex.
In addition, thanks to its modern and earthquake-resistant design and construction, it can be used in emergencies and natural disasters as a command post, supply center, and operations center.
The project's first stage was completed in December 2024. It includes facilities such as an entrance module, a guard post with lodging, and the General Staff building, which symbolizes Sipan culture's pyramids.
President Boluarte conducted the inspection alongside Prime Minister Eduardo Arana and Defense Minister Walter Astudillo.
The Army's 7th Brigade is an operational unit tasked with defending national sovereignty and providing support in emergencies such as floods, earthquakes, or droughts through the mobilization of resources and personnel in affected areas.
Likewise, it engages in the fight against organized crime linked to drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal logging.
It also supports the community through medical campaigns, damaged infrastructure reconstruction, and humanitarian aid distribution.
