Our country is the new featured destination in the "Take Me There: Peru" cultural series at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, one of the most renowned educational institutions in the United States.

This has been made possible thanks to the efforts of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru), which provided relevant information and coordinated the development of the exhibit.

It was inaugurated on July 12 as part of the museum's commitment to promoting cultural diversity and fostering understanding among communities. It will be open to the public for five years, until 2029.

"Take Me There: Peru" invites families to discover daily life in the South American country through a sensory and interactive experience.

Divided into six thematic sections, visitors will be able to explore the coast, the highlands, and the jungle through recreated spaces that reflect the environment, homes, schools, markets, and cultural expressions of Peru.

Every day, interactive activities allow visitors to play with alpaca plush toys, observe Amazonian wildlife, enjoy a juice bar with typical Peruvian fruits—including lucuma and passion fruit—watch the preparation of iconic dishes like Ceviche and Causa, practice Quechua, and join in dances and musical games to the rhythm of huayno and festejo genres.

In addition, for the first time in this series, visitors can experience the daily routine of a family from Arequipa, southern Peru, or visit the home of an Andean community.

The exhibition also includes pieces such as retablos, quipus, textiles, ceramics, traditional clothing, and musical instruments, reflecting our deep artistic heritage.

The exhibit will be included as part of the museum's general admission, which expects to welcome thousands of visitors over the coming months, especially during the Family Fiesta on September 15, within the framework of National Hispanic Heritage Month in the U.S.

With this initiative, Peru strengthens its presence in one of the most important family museums in the world, in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), through PromPeru, which supports and promotes initiatives to position the country as a world-class cultural destination.
