It noted that, according to figures from Perupetro, in June alone, royalties generated by the hydrocarbons sector amounted to US$94 million, representing a 6% decrease from the same month in 2024.
When analyzing the sources of royalties accumulated so far in 2025, natural gas contributed over US$293 million, natural gas liquids exceeded US$167 million, and oil generated more than US$108 million.
Return Mechanism
Royalties are an economic compensation established by law, through which companies are obliged to pay the Peruvian State for the right to exploit hydrocarbon resources (gas and oil) within the national territory.
Their calculation is based on the value of production, applying the royalty percentage set by Perupetro as stipulated in each contract.
