Peru: Devida authorizes transfer of resources to U.S. Embassy

The State-run National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) has authorized the transfer of resources to the Embassy of the United States of America in Peru to finance the implementation of the activity "Transfers for Interventions to Reduce Crops for Illicit Purposes."

The regulation authorizes the General Office of Administration of the Devida to carry out the transfer of resources for up to S/7,967,378.01 (about US$2,245,596.95) in favor of the U.S. Embassy in Lima.

This amount is intended for the implementation of the activity "Transfers for Interventions to Reduce Crops for Illicit Purposes."

It is aimed at financing the joint actions established in the "Operational Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Peru and the Government of the United States of America on the Drug Control Project."

It was established, in accordance with Diplomatic Note No. 0716-2025 from the U.S. Embassy, dated July 9, 2025, that the funds must be deposited into Banco Continental account No. 0011-0306-01-00119114 (interbank account code No. 011-306-000100119114-85).

It is reaffirmed that the eradication intervention will be carried out with the resources transferred by Devida to the U.S. Embassy for the lines of action: operations to reduce illegal coca crops and air transport for the transfer of personnel and equipment for eradication operations, through the project "Control and Reduction of Coca Cultivation in the Upper Huallaga – CORAH."

The Directorate of Technical Affairs and the Directorate of Promotion and Monitoring of Devida will monitor monthly the progress, achievements, and results obtained from the joint activities financed with the resources referred to in Article 1 of this resolution, reporting these to the Directorate of Territorial Coordination and the Executive Presidency.

Likewise, it was ordered to forward a copy of this resolution to the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL) of the U.S. Embassy in Peru for the purposes of monitoring and verifying compliance with the scheduled targets.
