During the analyzed months, traditional agricultural exports reached US$341 million, marking a 12.4% rise compared to 2024, driven by higher shipments of unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee (US$301 million), which grew 15.3%.
This product accounts for 88.1% of traditional agro-exports.
Meanwhile, non-traditional agricultural shipments reached US$5.185 billion in sales, representing a 23% increase compared to 2024.
The top products in the agro-export ranking were: avocados at US$877 million (16.9% share), fresh grapes at US$694 million (13.4%), and raw cacao beans at US$363 million (7.0%).
Also highlighted were higher shipments of fresh blueberries at US$278 million (5.4%), fresh mangoes at US$233 million (4.5%), fresh asparagus at US$132 million (2.6%), frozen mango at US$132 million (2.5%), other fresh fruits at US$115 million (2.2%), animal feed at US$110 million (2.1%), as well as other fruits at US$76 million (1.5%).
These 10 products together accounted for 58.1% of the non-traditional export supply.
The products that contributed the most positively in June this year compared to 2024 were: fresh grapes (43.8%), raw cacao beans (48.2%), avocados (14%), frozen mango (180.8%), fresh mangoes (26.7%), cochineal carmine (119.2%), other fruits and nuts (87.9%), other fresh fruits (37%), high-acidity cocoa butter (82.1%), and cocoa powder (134.8%), among others.
Likewise, non-traditional products such as fruits and vegetables reached sales of US$2.958 billion (57% of non-traditional agro-exports) in the first six months of the year, representing a 21.1% increase compared to 2024.
Main markets
The 10 main destination countries for Peruvian agricultural shipments were: the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, China, Colombia, and Canada.
This group of countries accounted for 76% of the total export value during the period under study.
Agro-exports in June
In June alone, agricultural exports totaled US$992 million, representing a 22.5% increase compared to the same month last year. These figures reaffirm Peru as one of the world’s leading food suppliers.
For example, traditional agricultural shipments during that month totaled US$132 million, marking a 104.9% expansion compared to the same period in 2024, mainly due to higher exports of unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee (US$124.3 million) and refined cane or beet sugar (US$2.6 million), which grew 106.5% and 432.7%, respectively.
Meanwhile, non-traditional agricultural shipments in June totaled US$860 million, a 15.4% increase compared to the same month in 2024.
The top non-traditional agro-export products in the analyzed month were: avocados at US$248 million (28.9% share), raw cacao beans at US$99 million (11.5%), fresh asparagus at US$36 million (4.2%), other citrus fruits at US$29 million (3.4%), fresh blueberries at US$27 million (3.1%), among others.
Trade balance
Similarly, the agricultural trade balance recorded a surplus of US$2.087 billion by June, a 41.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
This growth was driven by the higher dollar value of agricultural exports (a US$1.006 billion rise compared to 2024).
