As part of his activities in New York City, Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer on Monday participated in the 17th Ministerial Meeting of the Global Governance Group (3G) that met with G20 countries, and outlined Peru's priorities for the fight against both hunger and poverty.

Similarly, the Peruvian government official called for an urgent redefinition of financial assistance in favor of middle-income countries and a new global architecture that better reflects the needs of developing countries.

The Peruvian diplomat called for expanding technical cooperation to developing countries, especially in terms of fundable projects portfolio and risk mitigation tools, as well as fostering digital transformation and energy transition.

The Foreign Affairs minister traveled to New York City, United States, to participate in the activities of the
High-Level Week of the 79th Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to his agenda, on September 25 the diplomat will attend the Forum on Ancient Civilizations Ministerial Meeting, a high-level event that will reinforce the forum's work to transform culture into a tool of modern foreign policy and foster dialogue between civilizations and cultures for the sake of greater protection of natural and cultural heritage.

On the same day, the ambassador will participate in the Los Angeles Declaration Ministerial Meeting —an initiative that seeks to promote hemispheric cooperation to foster safe, orderly, and regular migration in the region.

The minister also plans to attend meetings within the framework of regional coordination spaces such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) on September 24 and 26; the Ibero-American Summit, which will hold a Meeting of Ibero-American Foreign Ministers on September 26; and the Brasilia Consensus, which will organize a Meeting of Foreign Ministers on September 27, among others.
