The Attorney General's Office filed a constitutional complaint before Congress against Luis Alberto Otarola, in his capacity as Prime Minister, accusing him of being the alleged instigator of the crime of simple and aggravated collusion to the detriment of the Peruvian State.

The Public Prosecutor's Office filed the complaint against the former Cabinet chief through the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints Section, according to a statement issued via X.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the alleged acts are related to the hiring of Rosa Pierina Rivera Bermeo —a friend of Otarola Peñaranda— while he was serving as Prime Minister.

The statement says that Rivera Bermeo was hired through service orders to perform duties at the Executive Presidency and the General Management of the State-run National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida).

As is known, Alberto Otarola served as Prime Minister for 440 days in the current Government of President Dina Boluarte.

Last March, Otarola submitted his resignation to the Head of State.
