The Advisory Council of the Expo Miners and Suppliers (Minpro 2025) welcomed the growth achieved over the past year in metallic and non-metallic mining, with exports totaling US$47 billion, a 15.6% growth.

"This is a record figure that strengthens the mining sector as the driving force behind economic recovery, and I ask authorities to maintain this momentum to achieve the rebound Peru needs," Digamma Group Executive-President Jorge Leon Benavides stated.

According to figures released by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the largest increases were recorded in sales of gold (+56%), tin (+38%), molybdenum (+22%), iron (+5%), zinc (+3%), and copper (+1%).

Mincetur reported that total exports amounted to US$74.664 billion at the end of 2024, with energy mining playing a decisive role in this significant rebound.

Leon Benavides explained that higher international prices for gold, silver, and copper allowed for this significant achievement.

"This confirms that Peruvian mining plays a key role as one of the country’s main sources of foreign currency," he pointed out.

The mining businessman reported that the issue will be thoroughly analyzed by experts participating at Minpro 2025. The event will take place at Lima Convention Center on June 24 and 25.

"Expo Mineros y Proveedores (Expo Miners and Suppliers Fair) is an opportunity to learn about the progress in the execution of new mining projects, growth projections in production, as well as the development and innovation of the services market and new products demanded by this sector," Leon Benavides explained.

"Within this framework, three business matchmaking rounds will be held for the first time: Logistimin, Mantemin, and Procesmin. These will provide participants with the opportunity to establish strategic connections, explore new collaboration opportunities, as well as discuss the latest technological solutions and services to optimize mining operations in Peru," he added.

This summit will feature the participation of CEOs, general managers, and representatives from various companies, who will present their future plans, as well as the development and investment of their key projects.
