Bayern Munich Sports Ambassador Claudio Pizarro, confirmed on Monday that his compatriot, Peruvian player Felipe Chavez —hailed as the new gem of national soccer— has renewed his contract with the German club.
Pizarro used Bayern Munich's social media platforms to announce that Chavez will continue wearing the jersey for the German club's amateur team.
"Felipe Chavez (April 10, 2007) remains a Munich player! FC Bayern has extended the contract of the highly sought-after 18-year-old attacking midfielder on a long-term basis. His original contract was set to expire on June 30. Since the winter break of last season, Chavez has been a permanent member of Bayern's amateur team squad," reads a statement on

In turn, Bayern's Director of Youth Development and Campus, Jochen Sauer, highlighted Felipe Chavez's qualities and contributions to the amateur team.
He also reported that the Peruvian player had attracted interest from other European clubs.
"Pippo is a very exciting talent. In the past season, he racked up numerous scorer points both with our U19s and the amateur team, which drew the attention of other clubs. That makes us all the more pleased that we were able to convince him to continue his development with us," Sauer said.
"We believe in his potential to succeed in professional soccer," he added.
The Peruvian U-20 international player moved from FC Augsburg's youth academy to the Bayern Campus in the summer of 2019 and has since made solid progress across all youth categories.
Last season, he played for both the U19 team and the amateur side in the Regionalliga Bayern.
In 24 official matches with the A-Juniors, he netted 15 goals and provided 13 assists. In 11 appearances with the amateur team, he scored three goals.
The player from Aichach is preparing for the upcoming 2025/26 season with Holger Seitz's team.
