The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Thursday reaffirmed her government's commitment to promoting projects that foster the use of renewable energy and protect the environment.

The photovoltaic plant will generate clean energy for more than 440,000 households.

"This project is a direct benefit with social and environmental impact that will mark a turning point in the history of national power generation and the sustainable use of our natural resources," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

The Head of State explained that the solar plant's operation will prevent the emission of more than 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

"With this, our Government reaffirms its commitment to renewable energy and to fostering a culture of environmental protection, working hand-in-hand with the private sector," she emphasized.

The top official highlighted the importance of a strategic partnership with the private sector, noting that 80% of investments are driven by the private sector, compared to 20% managed by the Peruvian State.

Likewise, the President stressed the need to build trust and ensure legal stability in order to attract investment into Peru.

"If they see a united country that respects its institutions and strengthens its democracy with legal certainty, more companies will come," she emphasized.

The Head of State noted that the solar plant includes more than 900,000 panels. She added that its construction generated over 940 jobs.
