on Tuesday stated that by the end of her administration, they will leave 50,000 Beca 18 (scholarships) available for students who deserve that opportunity upon completing high-school.
Mrs. Boluarte participated in the inauguration of the "9 de Julio" Bicentennial School in Concepcion, Junin region.
Within this framework, the top official noted that three such schools have already been delivered in the region, adding that more will continue to be built nationwide through July 28, 2026.
The Head of State emphasized that Bicentennial schools feature workshops that allow students to develop their own business ventures, enabling them to generate income for their families and also prepare for a technical or university career.
Regarding the scholarships, the President noted that when she took office, only 5,000 spots were being awarded.
Thus, the government set out to multiply that number fivefold, reaching a total of 20,000 Beca 18 scholarships to date, though she considered that figure still not enough.
"That is why, when we finish our term next year, we will leave 50,000 Beca 18 scholarships so that you, dear students, can make the most of them and create a new opportunity for yourselves," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.
The top official highlighted that the government is committed to education, healthcare, formal employment, and bringing order to the Peruvian State.
In that regard, she said that they are determined to regulate illegal mining and reiterated that those seeking to formalize have until December 31 of this year to do so.
At another point, the President noted that Peru has gained significant international recognition, which has led to an increase in the number of tourists visiting the South American country.
She also highlighted the stability of the Sol (Peruvian currency) compared to other regional currencies, noting that this is not the result of chance.
"And it must be said loud and clear: Peru is doing better than Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, and Colombia. We have the lowest inflation rate in the Americas. Our economy is stronger than all of these countries," she concluded.
