The Peruvian Government expressed deep concern over the serious deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.

Within this framework, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its call for all parties involved to fully respect international humanitarian law.

"In this regard, the Peruvian Government condemns the recent attacks against Gazan civilians who were seeking humanitarian aid, as well as all acts of forced displacement of the civilian population and the construction of new settlements in the West Bank, as these are contrary to international law," it stated via social media on Wednesday.

Likewise, Peru joined the recent statements by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and various states, calling for a ceasefire, the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages.

"Similarly, the Government of Peru provides its strong support for diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving these goals and joins the call of His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, for dialogue and reconciliation toward lasting peace in the region," it pointed out.

The Government of Peru reiterated its support for the two-state solution —Palestine and Israel— coexisting in peace within secure and mutually agreed borders, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.

Moreover, it called for respect for the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, international law, and the fulfillment of commitments made by all parties involved.
