Peru's Dulanto gave outstanding performance in Sheriff's 2-1 win over Real Madrid

18:47 | Madrid (Spain), Sep. 28.

Sheriff Tiraspol beat Real Madrid 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday in Spain, thus keeping its place as leader of Group D of the UEFA Champions League.

It should be pointed out that Gustavo Dulanto's performance was one of the reasons behind this historic result.

The Peruvian was heavily involved in the defense throughout the game and gave an outstanding performance on the field. He was also shown the yellow card for a foul in the second half.

Sheriff opened the scoring with a goal from Jasurbek Yakhshiboev in the first half (25').

The second goal of the match was a Karim Benzema's penalty in the 65th minute, which tied the game 1-1.

Finally, an 89th-minute goal from Luxembourgish midfielder Sebastien Thill sealed an incredible victory for the Tiraspol team.

This result will go down as one of the most surprising in the history of the competition and delivers a significant boost to Sheriff's chances of qualifying for the last 16, according to AFP.

Thus, the Moldovan club has six points out of six in Group D, having already beaten Shakhtar Donetsk.
