The B.A.P. Union received a total of 51,000 visitors on board, providing them with important information about Peru's main attractions, the Consulate accredited in the Dutch capital reported.

Thus, the training ship managed to break all daily records in terms of visitor numbers. On August 23 alone, the Peruvian vessel welcomed 18,000 visitors.

Thus, the B.A.P. Union became the most outstanding participant in the world's largest and most iconic maritime event, Sail Amsterdam 2025. It took place in said city from August 20 to 24.

The 2025 edition of the regatta coincided with the 750th anniversary of the founding of the city, the 50th anniversary of Sail Amsterdam, and the bicentennial of bilateral relations between Peru and the Netherlands.

Besides being a ship for Peruvian Navy cadets and naval officers, the B.A.P. Union is also a "Sailing Ambassador," as it serves to promote the country's image abroad.

Activities

In the context of the training ship's participation in this international regatta, the Consulate General in Amsterdam organized two activities for the Peruvian community residing in the Netherlands.

It was a drawing workshop for children aged 5 to 12, attended by 30 youngsters accompanied by their parents, who were provided with painting materials, snacks, and caps featuring the Marca Peru (Peru Brand).

The award ceremony for the most outstanding drawings was led by Ambassador Franca Deza, B.A.P. Union Commander and Naval Captain Juan Jose Roncagliolo, along with other officers of the Peruvian Navy.

The second activity organized by the mission was an exhibition on the 200 years of bilateral relations between Peru and the Netherlands.

On this occasion, Vice Consul Gabriela Huaman presented the most important milestones of these relations.
