Peru's participation was declared of sectoral interest by the National Government, in recognition of its strategic relevance for the promotion of mining and technological investments in the South American country.
Minister Montero made this announcement after a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Peru, Maree Ringland, and representatives of the Australia–Peru Chamber of Commerce (APCCI), headed by its Chairman Carlos Castro.
During that meeting, it was confirmed that the Peruvian delegation will be made up of 60 representatives from the public and private sectors, one of the largest groups to participate in IMARC 2025.
The aim is to consolidate Peru as a key destination for global mining investment, highlighting its geological potential, progress in sustainability, and favorable business environment.
Among the key events, the delegation will take part in is "Peru Time," a special session that will present the main opportunities for mining exploration and exploitation, as well as the 2025 Mining Investment Portfolio, valued at US$64.071 billion.
Peru will also seek to strengthen its ties with Australian METS (mining equipment, technology, and services companies), with a view to incorporating innovations that enhance a modern, efficient, and sustainable mining industry.
Peru's participation will be based on the following strategic pillars:
· Position Peru as a mining leader in Latin America, highlighting its potential, macroeconomic stability, and vision for sustainable development.
· Access new technologies developed in Australia and generate technical cooperation.
· Establish strategic alliances with institutional investors, multilateral organizations, and global industry leaders.
· Expand opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in trade, exports, and technology transfer.
The event will also feature a 36-square-meter institutional stand located at the International Convention Centre Sydney, where attendees will be able to access technical information, maps, project catalogs, and investment opportunities available in Peru.
IMARC is the leading mining and resources event in the Asia-Pacific region, annually bringing together more than 8,000 delegates from over 120 countries. These include investors, mining company executives, technology manufacturers, international organizations, and governments.
Peru is participating for the fifth consecutive time, thereby reinforcing its commitment to responsible, competitive mining aligned with the best global practices.
