In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is noted that Peru views with extreme concern the most recent developments in this part of the world.
Similarly, the Peruvian government agency stated that these events "exacerbate the spiral of violence in said region and undermine international efforts to de-escalate the conflict," in addition to seriously endangering peace and security around the globe.
"Peru strongly urges the parties to the conflict to avoid further armed actions and to prioritize diplomatic channels in the pursuit of a just and lasting peace that prevents the situation from worsening," the statement noted.
The text also underscored that Peru, in keeping with the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, reaffirms its unwavering commitment to respect for international law, the strengthening of multilateralism, and the peaceful settlement of disputes as the most effective and legitimate means to ensure international peace and security.
"In this difficult situation, our embassies remain on alert and in constant contact with Peruvian nationals in the region to provide them with the necessary support," the statement concluded.
It is worth noting that, in this context, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Peruvians in need, along with the contact information for the relevant consular sections.
