Peru's FA Min meets with Korean Deputy Minister for Political Affairs

Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua has met with the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Yeo Seung Bae.

The Korean authority leads a digital cooperation delegation that is on a visit to Peru, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its official Twitter account.

"Both authorities highlighted the excellent level of bilateral relations and agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas of common interest, such as the fight against COVID-19 and the development of science and technology," reads the publication.

In the statement, the ministry said that Peru and Korea have engaged in a comprehensive strategic partnership since 2012, which is based on shared principles and values.

"Both countries are members of APEC and, currently, Korea is an Observer State and candidate to Associate State in the Pacific Alliance," it said.

On Thursday, the Korean deputy minister participated in the inauguration of the Peru-Korea Government and Digital Transformation Cooperation Center accompanied by Peru's Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez.

This center aims to boost innovation, inclusion, and digital transformation in favor of citizens, and is an important step towards promoting the use of fourth industrial revolution technologies in favor of Peru's economic revival.
