After extending her condolences to the victim's family, the top official said that no leniency should be granted to those who harm children, "who are the most sacred and untouchable."
In this regard, she proposed opening the debate on the death penalty for child molesters.
"It is time for us to propose drastic measures in the face of events of this magnitude, which should be inconceivable in any society. It is time to start the debate on the death penalty for child rapists. We cannot allow people like these to walk freely in the streets," she expressed.
After also calling on the Peruvian National Police to strengthen their actions to protect the most vulnerable, Mrs. Boluarte requested a minute of silence for the eternal rest of the minor, whose body was found in the past few hours after being reported missing.
FAP satellite communication system
The Head of State said her government embarked on the task of rescuing Peru from the crisis it was in, which they have been fulfilling through work and effort, ensuring the country "is back on the world stage."
The top official stated that, as part of this effort, the reactivation of various public works for the benefit of thousands of Peruvians has been accomplished.
Mrs. Boluarte added that they are also committed to strengthening the capacity of institutions, such as the FAP. Thus, she highlighted the inauguration of this important engineering project.
"This system strengthens our defense capabilities; at the same time, it has a positive impact on connectivity and access to essential services in the most remote and vulnerable areas of this country," she noted.
Mrs. Boluarte said that, in addition to ensuring the connectivity of air bases located across various Peruvian regions, the new communication system has the potential to contribute in other key areas such as education, health, security, and disaster risk management.
In this regard, the President noted that inter-institutional agreements will be signed to facilitate these tasks and increase coordination in the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking, and illegal mining, as well as to improve emergency response.
