Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Tuesday expressed her wishes for a prompt recovery to her Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

This message was issued by the Presidential Office on the X platform.

"The President of the Republic Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra expresses her best wishes for a speedy recovery to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. She sends him a fraternal and supportive hug, and hopes to have the pleasant opportunity to meet him again soon," reads the message.

The Brazilian Head of State is in a "stable" condition on Tuesday in the ICU of a hospital in São Paulo, after undergoing emergency surgery for an "intracranial hemorrhage" resulting from the fall he suffered two months ago.

According to EFE, the 79-year-old president is conscious, speaks "normally," and will not have any neurological after-effects, the medical team at the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in São Paulo, where he will remain hospitalized until at least next Monday, said in a press conference.

"Lula is progressing well." He was extubated and is now "stable" and "calm" (...). "He has not suffered any brain injury. The risk of injury is zero," Dr. Roberto Kalil assured reporters.

The progressive leader began to feel ill on Monday afternoon. That night he went to the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in Brasilia with "headaches."

There, he underwent an MRI which revealed three-centimeter bleeding between his skull and brain.
