Peru strongly condemns the latest launch of missiles carried out by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Thursday.

Said launch constitutes a clear violation of international law and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, the government agency warned.

North Korea on Wednesday launched three missiles, including one that is apparently an intercontinental ballistic missile.

These launches brought the total number of such tests carried out this year by the North Korean regime to 17.

According to Seoul, they included that of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) which might be the Hwasong-17 —a newly-developed North Korean model considered among the largest in its class worldwide.

The tests came one day after United States' President Joe Biden participated in the Quad Leaders' Meeting in Japan.

Previously, the U.S. Head of State had traveled to Seoul, South Korea.

At those events, he pledged to strengthen cooperation on defense with U.S. allies in that region so as to face the growing threat posed by Pyongyang.
