The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has authorized a transfer of S/38,075,679 (US$10,761,922) to the National Elections Board (JNE) to finance the 2025 preliminary expenses for the 2026 General Elections.

This was issued through Supreme Decree No. 182-2025-EF, published in the Legal Regulations Bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.

According to the legal provision, the funds are sourced from the MEF's contingency fund.

Likewise, the MEF will disburse S/8,851,006 (US$2,501,698) in favor of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC) to finance the implementation of the investment project "Improvement of Access to Quality Civil Registry and Identification Services at the National Level."

These funds may not be used for purposes other than those for which they are transferred, under penalty, as established by Supreme Decree No. 183-2025-EF, published in the Legal Regulations section of El Peruano.

Both provisions were signed by President Dina Boluarte and Economy-Finance Minister Raul Perez Reyes.
