Peruvian agro-export performance in the international market achieved significant milestones in 2024.
"We are a key player in that market, as well as in Fruit Logistica, which is the leading trade fair for fresh products in Europe. We have had excellent participation for over 20 years," Sakihama told Andina News Agency.
"We have been invited several times as the guest of honor country because of our significant participation in avocados and blueberries," she added.
The spokesperson for PromPeru considered that Peruvian regions also play a fundamental role in this export success, with Piura, Ica, Lambayeque, and Ancash as main agro-exporting players.
In addition, Sakihama stated that there is a growing interest in other Peruvian goods such as ginger. In this regard, she added that Peruvian geographic conditions contribute to the superior quality of its products.
"We are geographically blessed with Peru's location, and that allows everything grown in the country to have better flavor or a much larger size, as is the case with blueberries. This makes people who are familiar with Peruvian products prefer them over those from other countries," she pointed out.
