To raise public awareness about the use of photovoltaic energy and its positive role in sustainable development, the PlanetSolar Foundation donated a solar-powered boat to the Autonomous Binational Authority of Lake Titicaca.

The information was confirmed by the Peruvian Embassy in Switzerland following a meeting on March 17 with PlanetSolar Foundation Chairman Raphaël Domjan.

The boat in question is "PlanetSolar II," which is already being transported to Peru.

It is scheduled to arrive at Matarani Port on April 12. From there, it will be transported to southern Puno region.

Regarding this, Domjan stated that the solar-powered unit will facilitate environmental monitoring missions, scientific research, and awareness-raising efforts on the need to promote sustainability and protect the Lake Titicaca ecosystem.

Accordingly, he stated that the voyage of "PlanetSolar II" to circumnavigate Lake Titicaca is scheduled for April or May 2026.
