guaranteed that the creation of the Ministry of Infrastructure will be established before July 28, thus fulfilling one of the announcements made by President Dina Boluarte during her Address to the Nation on the occasion of Independence Anniversary celebrations in July 2024.
"We are on the verge of approving the new Ministry of Infrastructure. I can assure you that we will have completed the presidential commitment before July 28," Adrianzen told reporters during a press conference following the Council of Ministers session on Wednesday.
The Cabinet chief explained that the pledges made by the Head of State are annual and that only five months have passed since she presented to Congress the bill to create the new ministry.
Adrianzen indicated that there are currently committees working on both the new government agency and the merger of two pairs of ministries, another of the announcements made in the Address to the Nation.
"We are committed to this task," he expressed.
Adrianzen said that, during the opening ceremony of the Constitutional Court's Jurisdictional Year on Wednesday, he spoke with Congress Chairman Eduardo Salhuana about the bill for the new portfolio, which is in Parliament's Constitution and Regulations Committee.
"Of course, we have offered to attend the Constitutional Committee to technically explain the grounds for our proposal, and we trust that this can be streamlined," he stated.
Adrianzen mentioned that the legislature is currently in recess; however, he reiterated that the commitment by President Boluarte on July 28, 2024, will be fulfilled.
"I can guarantee that we will have fulfilled the presidential promise before next July 28," he expressed.
In her Address to the Nation last year, the top official said the Ministry of Infrastructure will absorb the National Infrastructure Authority, the Agency for Investment Studies and Projects, as well as the programs and projects attached to ministries that currently execute investments nationwide.
