Peru's BCR: Business expectations remained optimistic in Sep 2024

Business expectations indicators remained in the optimistic range in September, for the fourth consecutive month, although with a slight moderation compared to the results from the August survey, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Monday.

In the case of indicators with the highest correlation with GDP, the 3-month outlook for the sector showed a recovery and the 3-month outlook for the economy was similar to the August result.

The indicator of expectations regarding the performance of the economy in 3 months was 51.8 points in September, while it stood at 56.9 points in 12 months.

Regarding the sector's expectations, the 3-month index rose to 55.3 points in September and the 12-month index reached 60 points.

The indicator of expectations regarding the situation of companies in 3 months was 55.2 points and it rose to 61.9 points in 12 months.

As for the demand for products, the 3-month index rose to 56.8 points in September. The 12-month index stood at 65.3 points.

The index of hiring expectations for 3 months increased to 53.7 points, while it registered 57.9 points for 12 months.

Meanwhile, the 3-month investment index of its companies registered 51.6 points in September and the 12-month indicator stood at 58.5 points.
