The
will implement three new state-of-the-art technology laboratories specializing in electronics, telecommunications, and electrical machines under the Specific Industrial Offset Compensation Agreement signed by the
and the Italian company Leonardo S.p.A.
This accord aims to contribute to the practical professional training of students at the "Suboficial Maestro de 2da. FAP Manuel Polo Jimenez" Public Aeronautical Higher Technological Institute (ESOFA).
The agreement provides for the implementation of three modern technology laboratories specializing in electronics, telecommunications, and electrical machines, managed by Italian company De Lorenzo —a leader in the design, development, and production of equipment for technical and professional training.
Similarly, the accord includes technical training for instructors, both domestically and abroad, who will oversee these laboratories. This will enable the integration of modern technologies and educational methodologies into various training programs at the FAP Technological Institute, positioning ESOFA as a leading center for aeronautical technical training in the region.
According to the ministry, the implementation of these laboratories will benefit students by allowing them to develop the necessary skills to provide support and maintenance for military operations related to national defense and civil defense efforts.
"This will be particularly valuable for students specializing in Aircraft Maintenance, Engine Maintenance, Electronics Maintenance, Telecommunications, Air Traffic Control, and Air Defense," the Ministry of Defense stated.
The Specific Offset Agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Defense Resources, Adolfo Herrera Orlandini; and Leonardo S.p.A. Offset Chief. Also present were the Chief of the FAP General Staff, Lieutenant General Ruben Gambarini Oñath; the Director of ESOFA, Major General David Velasquez Portella; the Italian Ambassador, Massimiliano Mazzanti; and the Italian Military Attaché; along with other officials from the relevant institutions.
The Directorate of Industrial and Social Offsets within the General Directorate of Material Resources of the Ministry of Defense was responsible for managing and drafting the agreement, ensuring its alignment with the strategic objectives of the FAP.
