President Dina Boluarte on Tuesday participated in the ceremony commemorating the 203rd Anniversary of the Peruvian Navy and the 145th Anniversary of the Naval Battle of Angamos, in tribute to its greatest hero, Miguel Grau.
Among the personalities attending this event were Defense Minister Walter Astudillo and Navy Commander General, Admiral Luis Polar Figari.

Also present were Joint Command of the Armed Forces Chief, Army General David Ojeda Parra; and General Commanders of the Air Force, General Carlos Enrique Chavez Cateriano, and of the Army, General Cesar Briceño Valdivia.

This ceremony took place at Plaza Grau in Callao region.

In Peru, the Battle of Angamos is commemorated every October 8 —an event that honors the brave crew members of the Huascar monitor, under the command of Grand Admiral Miguel Grau Seminario, who fought to the very end to defend Peru during the War of the Pacific.

The Navy also celebrated its 203rd anniversary defending Peru.
