Exports of non-traditional agricultural products totaled US$1.247 billion in January 2025, a 28.5% year-over-year growth, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Tuesday.

The average shipped volume increased by 29.3% year-over-year, driven by higher sales of mangoes (+243.1%), grapes (+64.9%), and cacao (+19.2%), some of which recovered from the impact of the 2023 climate anomalies.

Meanwhile, exports of non-traditional textile products reached US$137 million in January 2025, reflecting a 9.5% increase compared to the same month in 2024, the report noted.

For the tenth consecutive month, the shipped volume showed growth (8.2% year-over-year in January), mainly due to higher exports of cotton garments to the United States (the main market) and Germany, as well as fabrics to Colombia.

The BCR highlighted that, during the analysis period, the export price increased by 1.2% year-over-year.
