Peru and U.S. discuss common interest issues, including defense of democracy

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer spoke with Ambassador Brian Nichols, Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the United States Department of State.

On this occasion, both dignitaries reiterated the excellent state of the bilateral relationship, based on shared principles.

They also addressed issues of common interest, including the defense of democracy in the region, the fight against transnational organized crime, and the promotion of economic and commercial relations with the North American country.

The conversation was held on Sunday morning.


He replaces Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea in the post.
