The Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., vibrated with Peru's colors and culture during the halftime show of the Washington Wizards vs. Miami Heat game, part of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The iconic Peruvian dance "Valicha" enchanted over 20,000 spectators on March 31.

The performance —organized by the Embassy of Peru in the United States— is part of a comprehensive strategy to promote tourism and enhance the South American country's image in the U.S. capital.

"Valicha" with its rich tradition and folklore— brilliantly represented Peruvian culture to a predominantly American audience.

This is the second time that the diplomatic mission, in collaboration with the Papalca USA School of Art and Music, has presented a cultural performance at an NBA game in Washington, D.C.

The event serves as a valuable showcase to showcase Peru's cultural richness on a high-impact international stage.

Similarly, the modern venue in the U.S. capital, Capital One Arena, allowed for a large-scale fusion of sport and culture.

The stage was the perfect setting for this celebration of Peruvian culture, sparking interest in discovering more about the South American country.
