Authorities from the Republic of Korea, which will host the APEC 2025 Summit, visited the main venues of the APEC Peru 2024 Economic Leaders' Week on November 16, including the Lima Convention Center and the International Press Center, both located in San Borja district.

Present at the event were Gyeongju Mayor, Joo Nak-young, his advisory team, Dongguk University members, as well as some organizers of APEC Korea 2025.

In addition to visiting the venues where the APEC Economic Leaders' Week took place, they met with APEC Peru 2024 Working Group representatives to exchange information on the logistics of an event of this magnitude.

For example, they inquired about the average number of foreign visitors, the essential characteristics of dialogue spaces, the accreditation criteria, hotel capacity, among other aspects.

The Gyeongju Mayor expressed his sincere gratitude for the information provided to the delegation.

He emphasized that it will be extremely useful for the organization of APEC 2025, particularly for his city, which will host the next APEC Economic Leaders' Week.

It is important to highlight that the organization of various APEC 2025 events to be held throughout the year will correspond to different South Korean cities.

For example, the Gyeongju is responsible for organizing and executing the APEC Economic Leaders' Week. Other South Korean cities will be in charge of events such as the APEC Senior Officials' Meetings.

Gyeongju is a city in the Republic of Korea, located on the southeast coast.

It is quite famous and frequently visited for its numerous cultural attractions, including spectacular temples and monuments.

Therefore, Gyeongju has been given the name "The Museum Without Walls."

It covers an area of 1,324 km², slightly smaller than the city of Trujillo in northern Peru, and has a population of approximately 249,845 inhabitants.

Peru hosted APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
