Peru: 12-month inflation expectations down to 2.44% in Aug 2024

According to the Survey of Macroeconomic Expectations reported by the Central Reserve Bank (BCR), the 12-month inflation expectations of economic analysts and the financial system decreased from 2.49% in July to 2.44% in August, remaining within the inflation target range.

The inflation expectations of economic agents remained within the target range for all the projection horizons consulted (2024, 2025, and 2026).

Expected inflation for this year is between 2.5 and 3.0%. For 2025 and 2026, this variable is projected to range between 2.4% and 3.0%.  

Last August, the GDP growth expectation for 2024, according to the consulted groups, was between 2.7% and 3.0%.

For 2025, the growth rate is expected to be between 2.8% and 3.0%, while it is forecasted to be between 2.7% and 3.0% for 2026.
