Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen on Wednesday underscored the granting of Sporting Laurels to Olympic sailor Stefano Peschiera, who won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

"I join in the congratulatory greetings; this morning, he (Stefano) received the Sporting Laurels from the President of the Republic for winning an Olympic bronze medal, more than 30 years after Peru last climbed onto the podium," Adrianzen expressed.

At a press conference, after the Council of Ministers session, Prime Minister Adrianzen said that the Peruvian medalist's triumph is the outcome of a significantly great effort.

Adrianzen also pointed out that the Government fulfilled what was offered to the athletes. Thus, an economic stimulus of US$40,000 to Stefano Peschiera —winner of a bronze medal at Paris 2024— was granted.

Stefano's Sporting Laurels were unveiled and are now displayed on the front of the Lima-based National Stadium, near gate 4, which leads to the west stand.

His coach received the monetary prize of US$12,000.
