Several tanks and heavily-armed soldiers took over the square in front of the Bolivian Executive Branch headquarters this afternoon, once Army General Commander Juan Jose Zuñiga had threatened to take over the building.
For his part, Bolivian Vice-President David Choquehuanca denounced that a "coup d'état" against President Luis Arce's Government was taking place, after a tank forcibly entered the Executive Branch seat in La Paz.
"We denounce to the international community that there is a coup d'état in Bolivia against our democratically-elected Government," Choquehuanca expressed.
