The Government of Peru on Tuesday expressed condemnation and dismay over the recent missile attack against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including the Okhmatdyt National Specialized Children's Hospital in Kyiv, which has resulted in a tragic death toll, including children, and more than one hundred people injured.

"The Peruvian Government conveys its deepest condolences and solidarity with the families of those affected," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a communiqué.

"Peru reiterates its call to respect international humanitarian law, which prohibits directing attacks against civilians and civil assets and that any attack of this type is unacceptable and must stop immediately," it stated.

Committed to the search for peace, the Government of Peru urgently calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the need to seek a solution in line with the United Nations Charter and the relevant resolutions.

Last Monday, Russia launched a missile against the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, as part of an offensive against the Ukrainian capital, which has already left 32 dead, two of them at the hospital.

The attack has also been condemned by other nations.
