In Australia, another of the countries that are preparing to welcome 2025, some Peruvians gathered in Sydney Harbor, on the Bay Bridge or the Opera House to enjoy with family, with their partner or friends the fireworks show as the main attraction of the end-of-year festivities in this country.

When in Sydney is 00:00 hours of 2025 in Lima it is 08:00 am. The difference in time is 16 hours between both capital cities.

From the early hours of the morning of December 31, thousands arrived at the aforementioned places to countdown and celebrate the beginning of the New Year.

Hours before January 1, it is possible to see acrobats doing flyboards (a water sport in which propellers allow you to fly over water), drones in the air, people dancing in different spaces and multicoloured lights projected across the skies of Sydney.

Due to the rotation of the Earth and the time difference, another of the countries where Peruvians abroad welcomed the New Year first was New Zealand, a country located in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean.

In this part of the world, most of the celebrations are outdoors and open to the public with large live concerts, such as those held in Wellington, capital of New Zealand, where the festivities began around 8 pm on December 31 with fireworks displays.

The fireworks brightened and illuminated the different cities of this country such as Auckland, Whangamata and the Mount Maunganui neighbourhood.

Many Peruvians living in New Zealand did not fail to wear a yellow garment to welcome the new year or eat the twelve grapes that symbolize the twelve wishes that one wants to achieve during the coming year.

Some events extend over several days, so both locals and visitors are usually quite satisfied and entertained.

People in Auckland, the largest city in the country, prefer to move to Whangamata. This coastal city is located on the Coromandel Peninsula, on the northern island of New Zealand. Around sixty thousand people visit it during the New Year's time.
