Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer held a meeting on Friday with United Arab Emirates' Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, in which he reaffirmed Peru's interest in advancing investment agreement negotiations with the Gulf nation.

Within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, both high-ranking officials held a bilateral meeting to evaluate and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Schialer noted that Peru, as part of its foreign policy, places special importance on its ties with the Gulf countries.

Similarly, he pointed out that the Peruvian Government is implementing a strategy to reposition Peru in the region, prioritizing the strengthening of political and economic relations.

This initiative underscores Peru's commitment to diversifying its international alliances and fostering development opportunities by establishing agreements that promote investment and trade with one of the world's most dynamic regions.
