Peru condemns act of violence in Germany

Peru has strongly condemned the violent act that took place in Munich, Germany, on Thursday, which left dozens injured.

"Reaffirming its solidarity with the German people and Government, an important security partner, Peru reiterates its strong rejection of all forms of violence," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed last night.

The Consulate General of Peru in Munich remains in close contact with local authorities and reports that no fellow nationals have been affected.

On Thursday, a man was arrested after a car ramming attack wounded at least 36 people in the city of Munich, AFP reported.

The 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, identified by German media as Farhad N., is accused of deliberately driving a Mini Cooper into a trade union demonstration in the southern metropolis.
