Priority is being given to nationals in vulnerable situations, tourists, and those who may have been stranded due to unforeseen circumstances.
Emergency communication channels have been established, such as WhatsApp groups, to guide and assist our fellow citizens.
Given the closure of Israeli airspace, the Peruvian Embassy is maintaining constant coordination with that country's authorities to obtain and keep updated information on safe evacuation routes, in order to inform our nationals accordingly.
The 12 Peruvians who left Israel with the support of the diplomat mission did so through the border crossings with Jordan and Egypt.
Peruvians in Iran
Despite internet access restrictions, the Peruvian Embassy in Türkiye remains in contact with our nationals in Iran through its official channels, as well as through a network formed by the Peruvian community itself and with the support of consular representations from other countries.
Our diplomatic mission confirmed that one Peruvian national was able to leave the country for Armenia.
Three Turkish cities have been identified as safe border points in case of an evacuation from Iran: Van (Kapiköy–Razi border crossing), Agri (Gürbulak–Bazargan border crossing), and Hakkari (Esendere–Serow border crossing).
In addition, temporary accommodation has been arranged in hotels, along with mechanisms for providing financial assistance to cover basic needs.
Coordination with the Turkish Foreign Ministry has made it possible for Peruvians to enter Türkiye with a five-day transit visa issued by our consular mission, due to the closure of Iranian airspace.
The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad.
It also urges family members and friends to share contact information so that they can reach out to Peruvian missions in the countries affected by conflict and receive the assistance they may require.
