Peru: Insights into short-term yield curves

On January 8, 2025, the BCR CD yield curve registered, compared to December 30, higher rates for 6, 9, and 18-month terms, similar rates for 3-month terms, and lower rates for 12-month terms, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.

BCR Certificates of Deposit (CD) are monetary sterilization instruments that can be traded in the market or used in interbank repos and repos with the issuing entity.

The shape of this yield curve is influenced by expectations of future monetary policy rates and market liquidity conditions.

Public treasury bonds

For maturities starting from two years, the market references the yields of Public Treasury bonds.

On January 8, 2025, the interest rates on sovereign bonds, compared to December 30, were higher for 10, 20, and 30-year terms, while they were lower for 2 and 5-year terms.
