on Monday expressed that she is seriously and firmly considering the death penalty for murderers and hitmen who target Peruvian citizens and entrepreneurs.
The Head of State made these remarks at the ceremony marking the start of the 2025 school year at Bicentennial School I.E. 3049 Imperio del Tahuantinsuyo in Lima's Independencia district.
"To these damn murderers, I say that I am seriously considering the death penalty, because no hitman, no extortionist will be allowed to stain with blood the families who love their children, or the entrepreneurs who are building their future through honest effort," Mrs. Boluarte stated.
"To them, I say that I am firmly considering the death penalty, because we are not going to allow one more Peruvian, man or woman, who works honestly, to be killed," she added.
Previously, the top official indicated that her Government, supported by the Interior Ministry, is implementing the Safe School Plan 2025, which began with the deployment of 3,000 police personnel in its first stage.
The President stated that the agents will work in coordination with more than 5,000 school self-protection brigades nationwide, made up of over 50,000 parents.
"Nothing and no one should disturb the peace of our boys and girls. That is why, along with the National Police, municipal security forces, regional education offices, Local Educational Management Units (UGELs), and the educational community, we will strengthen security outside schools," Mrs. Boluarte specified.
Additionally, the top official indicated that her administration will soon be calling for the 2026 general elections in order to prevent any speculation on the matter.
The President also emphasized that her Government stands firm in the fight against corruption.
Moreover, she reiterated that it will present a bill to expel corrupt foreign companies and, in the case of national companies, to permanently bar them from bidding for State contracts again.
